I woke up the next morning disoriented. I looked around while my mind was racing, trying to recall what had happened, why I was here, and where here even was. Then it all came back to me in a rush as I remembered everything that happened yesterday, running away, leaving the ocean, walking on dry land for the first time and
Athnya. It was still a mystery to me as to why Athnya trusted me enough to spend the day alone with me and let me into her house. She didnt even know me; for all she knew I could just be biding my time, waiting for the right opportunity to hurt her.
The girl that was currently occupying my thoughts walked down the stairs, hair tangled, pajamas rumpled and not even noticing my presence through her early morning stupor. I watched while she walked down the stairs. I decided to wait to tell her Good Morning so I didnt startle her and make her fall down the stairs.
